Staff was very friendly and accommodating for our late arrival and last minute plans. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. With an in-room jacuzzi and deck overlooking F.D.R. state park, the cabin-like room exceeded our expectations.
AMAZING quaint & cozy little cabins!! Most have a fireplace and also a Jacuzzi tub in the bedroom. Some have one outside too. Perfect little secluded spot on a small mountain, in the woods, for a romantic getaway! Also bigger cabins for family trips as well. I highly recommend!
Overall, I will say that they may have contributed more to the headache of wedding planning than I would have liked, but again, the venue is fantastic. All of our guests, even the ones that were upset about having to wait so long for their accommodations to be ready, say that it was a beautiful, "mini-vacation like" weekend, with memories that will last a lifetime. And in the end, that's what really matters.
Also, during the months of the wedding planning as wells as during the actual weekend of the wedding, there seemed to be some confusion between the 2 coordinators; we'd talk with one coordinator about something, and it wouldn't be relayed to the other, so I felt like I was having to repeat myself to both of them to make sure everything was in order.
However, on the day of the wedding (Saturday), everything went smoothly. The staff handled our vendor deliveries and directed our stylists to the cabin the bridal party was using. The reception went great; we used their in house catering, which was pretty good, and they handled bringing out the cakes, making some announcements, herding guests where they needed to be as the evening progressed, etc.
When some of our guests started arriving on Friday afternoon, after 3PM (which is their check-in time), one of the biggest cabins and quite a few of the inn rooms weren't ready. We had a lot of things planned for that afternoon; including the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner... A minor delay wouldn't have been such a big deal, but the rooms and cabin weren't ready for 2 HOURS! We had guests that flew in from England, as well as my elderly grandmother and the mother of the bride who were wandering around in the parking lot for 2 hours waiting for their rooms to get ready. The Resort refunded us the cost of the cabin for that night (although not the inn rooms that weren't ready on time either), but I'm not so sure that the frustration was worth it. We had booked everything months in advance, it's not like they weren't expecting us.
We had our destination wedding here in Spring of 2017, booking all of the inn rooms and several of the cabins for the weekend for our guests. Although we had the ceremony in the State Park, we had the reception in MT&R's Pavilion. The venue was BEAUTIFUL, the inn rooms, which were recently renovated, were fantastic. The cabins could use some updating, but were nice.
I had my wedding at F.D. Roosevelt State Park this last weekend. We opted to stay at Mountain Top Inn & Resort. We chose Cabin Joy. This place was amazing! I really just wanted to live there. It was beautiful and just the right size. Check in and out was also easy. I highly recommend staying here.
This place is lovely. It is situated on a mountain with beautiful views. The room was very nice and well appointed. This location also has cabins available and a pool. My only complaint, would be that parking was scary to me. Although being from Florida, parking on the side of a mountain could be understandably unnerving! I felt that the cost was reasonable for the location and the quality of the room. The staff was helpful and accommodating, although not available during the overnight hours. However, I felt very safe here and the area was well lit.
